We have finished up this piece which is a beautiful bow fronted sideboard. It has so much character I didn't need to add anything decorative but painted it to enhance the major rounded front, pie crust top and curvy lines instead.

Process

 Painted in an aged French Elegance style the main colour is Vintro Aurora a soft grey blue using a 2020 Staalmeester brush. We sanded the edges to expose some of the original dark finish and once totally dust free applied a small transfer to the front top drawer. We sanded this gently with a high grade sandpaper for a worn look. All of the aging details has been done with tinted waxes of Vintro Dove and Cloudburst to soften the blue and bring out more grey. We used a little highlight of gilding wax on some of the carvings to finish
