These classic pine book cases are easy to find in most homes and pretty forgettable. We enhanced this one by adding some moulding to the sides prior to painting and then giving her a French Elegance look which makes her much more inviting. She has 3 movable shelves to complete the piece

Process

Unfortunately we don't have a before pic for this bookcase so will have to describe it instead. It is a great size, about chest height with 3 removable shelves. The detailing on the fronts is using Efex moulds and resin moulds all from our shoppe and gluing them on prior to painting in a compilation we liked. It came to us partially painted and partially in its orange raw pine look. We have applied an allover old French patina look with our Vintro Dove chalk paint and a Staalmeester 2020 brush, two coats was plenty. The top coat was a  blended wax layer as a mix of dark wax and dove chalk paint for an antiqued grey wax look. The inside does not look as muddy as the photo indicates. This gives it a very aged look.  Over the carvings we finished in a touch of champagne gold gilding which is a great foil against grey.
